Ans. He/she has completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before
31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year of Undergraduate Medical Courses.
The upper age limit for NEET (UG) is 25 years as of the date of examination with a relaxation of 5 years for the
candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL category and PwD Candidates.
For Candidates of General (UR)/General-EWS- born on or before 31.12.2003
For Candidates of SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD Category- born on or before 31.12.2003
Ans. No. Allotment of the medium of language would be State-specific.
If any candidate is opting for vernacular language as a medium of question paper, he will be
allotted center only in respective States of a particular vernacular language. In the present
case, the examination center could be only in Assam.
Ans. The minimum qualification for appearing in NEET-UG for candidates of Foreign
Nationals are same as for Indians.
Further that the students educated abroad seeking admission into medical colleges in India
must have passed the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology, and English up
to the 12th standard level with 50% marks and their equivalency determined as per
regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University.
Ans. In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or Other
Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Bio-technology
taken together in the qualifying examination shall be 40% marks instead of 50% marks
prescribed for General Category Candidates.

The Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination
which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years
of study, the last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-
technology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any
other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as
prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after the
introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National
Committee on Education.
Provided that 2 years of regular and continuous study of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-
technology taken together shall be required at 10+2 level for all the candidates. Candidates
who have passed 10+2 from Open Schools or as a private candidates shall not be eligible to
appear for NEET (UG). Furthermore, the study of Biology/Bio-technology as an additional
subject at the 10+2 level also shall not be permissible.
NOTE: where the course content is not as prescribed for the 10+2 education structure of the
National Committee, the candidates will have to undergo a period of one-year pre-
professional training before admission to the Medical Colleges.
Ans. The responsibility of CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance test, declaration of
results, and providing All India Rank to the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry
of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India for counseling of 15% All India Quota
Seats, Deemed Universities/Central Universities/Seats of ESIC & AFMC including BHU &
AMU and providing the result to the State Counselling Authorities and Admitting
Institutions.
Ans. As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 as amended in
2018 and the Dentists, Act-1948 as amended in 2018, admissions in 100% seats of
MBBS/BDS will be done through NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) – 2018
(NEET-UG, 2018) in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of
India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,
Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e.
AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.
